  • 2 questions for breastfeeders? "Extended" breastfeeders mainly.?

1- How long was your baby breastfed exclusively (no solids).

2- How's your breastfed toddler's diet? Does he/she nurse on demand, etc.

    Out of curiosity..

  • Ergo help??

So.. got my ergo after much consideration and I'm lost already!

Are ergos and wide hips compatible???

Front carry: The waist strap is driving me nuts, the widest part goes down to my hips and the back part goes up to my waist, so it's not straight at all. No matter how much I try to make it even, nothing works. I feel I'm supporting the whole thing with my shoulders!

Baby loved it though, she fell asleep in no time lol.

What am I doing wrong? My mei hip is more comfortable than this and it shouldnt... :-/

  • Which carrier would you recommend?

I have a moby wrap and a hotslings, but I'm looking for something that can handle more weight (not a wrap or ring sling), but there are so many choices out there!

    Ergo? Patapum? Babyhawk? Agghh....help!

    Experiences appreciated!

  • Spoiling a baby under 1?

So... There's this theory going around that says you can't spoil a baby before 1 year old. My question is, what's the difference between a 11 month old baby and a 13 month old one?

Do they become adults of all a sudden??

    Enlighten me here please...

  • Did you start hating some foods when you got pregnant?

I mean something that you used to eat all the time before being pregnant. If so, did you like it again after giving birth?...eventually?

After one year I still think chicken is the devil....

  • What's with this spanking obsession?

Everytime I come to this section, I notice that most of the questions are related to spanking.

What's wrong when you guys can't handle kids any other way??

I've also noticed this runs in the family, spankers are most likely gonna raise future spankers..."My father spanked me and I turned just fine"...

  • Baby harness?

My mom, who has neck and back problems, takes care of my 1 year old daughter once a week for a couple of hours. She's not fully walking yet, and you need to hold her hand a lot.

Are baby harnesses a good alternative so she doesn't have to be leaning all the time? I'm not a fan of those, but I want my mom healthy and my baby "free" to walk around and explore, not locked in a playpen.

    Thanks!

  • Elimination communication?

I am neither gonna try it nor critize it, but I'm curious about it.

How do you manage on a daily basis?? Also, I can see it happening at home, but how do you guys do it when you go out?

  • Inducing labor due to baby not growing in the womb?

My friend is 36 weeks pregnant and the doctor just told her that she will have to be induced next week because her baby is not growing. Placenta is fine, heartbeat is fine, but the baby hasn't grown in the last 3 weeks.

I'm somehow uncomfortable with that explanation...

    Has anybody gone through this?

  • Alcohol on breastmilk test??

This is probably old news for some of you guys, but I've just been told about this product,

    http://www.milkscreen.com/

Still trying to figure out if this is a good or a bad thing (if it works, of course). I think it's great when you have an ocassional drink, but do you think it could promote binge drinking? I guess it depends on the person, the woman who told me about this product is hooked on this and gets really pissed once a week now.

    What are you thoughts?

  • Three wheel lightweight stroller?

I'm interested on the Britax Verve, but I've only seen it online. It's similar to the Quinny Zapp, but it does recline a bit.

    Does anybody here have one?

    Thanks!

  • Breastfeeding/formula vs. Homemade food/jars?

My best friend thinks women who feed their babies formula tend to feed their babies with food jars later on, while breastfeeding moms tend to cook their babies food.

I don't necessarily agree, I think it's more a matter of time and convenience, most working women I know buy ready made food since they don't have as much time to cook as SAHMs.

I cook my baby's food for obvious reasons, it's fresher, healthier, less salt and aditives, but I'm also a freelance translator who has time to do it.

What's your take on this matter??

    Thanks in advance!

  • A question for American breastfeeding moms?

I'm moving to the states in a couple of months and I've read that breastfeeding in public is illegal in some states. I've done some research and all I've found are laws that say just the opposite. Has anybody encountered a problem while breastfeeding in public?

    Thanks in advance!
